Malaysia is a really nice country filled with a rich cultural heritage. Aside from the amazing and diverse foods that you can eat, there are so many things that you can do in whatever part of the country you are in.
You might not have heard or even be familiar with Melaka. Formerly known as ‘Malacca’, this place was colonized by three Western superpowers- the Portuguese, the Dutch, and the British- back in the day. That is why some of the buildings that stand today have a semblance of the conquerors of yesterday.
Anyway, even though most people haven’t heard of this place, it actually has plenty of tourist attractions that you can visit. And, from what I’ve heard, you can find stunningly beautiful girl escorts as well.
Today, I am going to highlight some of the most amazing things that you can do in Malacca.
Malacca has many different museums and one place in particular that you can visit is the Villa Sentosa. Dubbed as the Malay Living Museum, you can find Malacca’s rich history, culture, and heritage in this place.
If you are going to take a hike to this place, you could easily burn 30-45 minutes of your time. Fortunately, you can rent a bike and go there on wheels.
Jonker Street is quite popular in Melaka. Sure, you can find some stores and the place is filled with a lot of different stalls that you can go and visit. However, the real magic happens on Friday at exactly 6 PM.
You see, during the weekends, the entire street is turned into a magical night market where plenty of vendors create their own stalls for you to see.
Here, you can find a lot of gift items, souvenirs, and most especially, a lot of scrumptious food! What I love about the food is the fact that it is not restricted to Malaysian cuisine. You can find those that have an Indian, Chinese, and Japanese flair.
The Malacca River is quite huge and you can take a 45-minute river cruise no matter what time of the day it is. However, I highly recommend that you take the nightly river cruise, especially if you are with your special someone.
Why is that? That is because the city is quite romantic at night and everything is calm, at least, in the vicinity of the river.
When you and visit the Dutch Square, you will find the Stadthuys, Queen Victoria’s Fountain, and Christ Church. However, that is not the only reasons why you need to go here because, in the square itself, you can find many colorful and decorative trishaws.
For the people that do not want to take a walk to see the entire place, I suggest that you book a trishaw ride for yourself. Trust me, it will all be worth it!
There are many guesthouses that you can find in Malacca. The one I stayed in was Ringo’s Foyer guesthouse and I have to say that it is actually quite nice.
Sure, it’s got some nice amenities, but I am actually referring to its amazing art painted on its walls.
